The first set of games, 3 x 30 min periods against the Kariya and Obu city schools representative squad were played this morning. In very hot temperatures all of the boys acquitted themselves well, kept the ball moving and controlled the tempo of large parts of the play. We drew the first two periods 0-0 and lost the final period 0-1. We created a host of chances, struck the woodwork twice and found ourselves in a number of one-on-ones with the goalkeeper but just let the ball run away on the astroturf. This was an excellent work out and will have helped tremendously with the acclimatisation. On Saturday we are looking forward to our matches with Kariya High School and Kobe School and everyone is looking forward to the challenge.
