Our first day in Japan brought with it an entertaining meeting with the mayor of Kariya city. 6 of the boys and 3 of the staff exchanged pleasantries and gifts with local dignitaries and our hosts here in Kariya, who in turn welcomed us to Japan. Alex Milne gave a fabulous speech in Japanese in return.
We trained in the afternoon on a state-of-the-art water based astroturf at Toyota Industries ground. It was a fairly light session to start off the tour but was still hard work given the 39 degree heat! Tomorrow we play some warm up games against a representative squad from the area.
