Matches v Nagoya Gakuin High School

Yesterday we played Nagoya Gakuin High School in the Mizuho stadium. The Bs played first and struggling to find their rhythm were 2-0 down at half-time. A change of formation and new-found resolve (as well as a torrential downpour) brought a dramatic change in fortune. George Tidbury smashed home a chance to get one back and the rest of the match was one-way traffic. Unfortunately the equaliser just didn't come but the boys were much happier with the performance in the second period - a game of two halves. The A team game proved to be a cagey affair with few chances in the first half. Nagoya were on top territorially but Eton looked dangerous on the break. Soon after half-time a goal mouth scramble fell at the feet of a Nagoya player and he drove the ball home. Some excellent play by Eton resulted in an equaliser for Matt Everton-Wallach. Nagoya replied quickly with a superb header from a diagonal. Chances followed at either end but the score stayed at 2-1 to the Japanese. Another good performance from Eton against strong opposition.
